In 2016 the Pacific Links Foundation and the John Lewis Foundation formed a partnership to deliver an Academic Scholarship programme benefiting young women from economically disadvantaged backgrounds living in areas with high incidences of human trafficking in the Mekong Delta . The Academic Scholarship Programme gives students who are at high risk of dropping out of school a chance to obtain an education.  Since inception 290 scholarship recipients have graduated high school, with 90% (94 out of 104 12th graders receiving a scholarship) passing the 12th grade exam last year. Most are now in employment or further education.
